Is having a SHOP Tab on your Facebook important?

One of my customers asked me if having a SHOP Tab is better than sending her Facebook fans to her actual website. The answer is below:

Two things to consider:

Since you are planning on using Facebook as one of your Social Media Networks to promote your products, you may want to incorporate a SHOP tab as part of your marketing strategy.
In many cases some user may prefer to purchase your product without leaving their Facebook wall, specially mobile users on smart phones.

On the other hand, there are online users who may not have Facebook accounts and may find you through Search Engine research.

For those users, you want to keep your e-commerce site. Either way, the more accessibility to your site the better off you’ll be.

As you promote your site on your Facebook page, you can also do updates with BUY NOW buttons which will take users directly to a PayPal check out page.

Which one is better?

The cost to incorporate the SHOP Tab starts at $10/month. If this is in your budget, I would highly recommend it.
